DAY 1Eco Tambopata Natural Reserve

From there, we will drive to the Capitania port and embark on a scenic 40-minute boat ride along the Madre de Dios River, heading toward the Amazon Garden Lodge. As soon as we arrive, a refreshing welcome drink will await you.

Your adventure will begin with an exhilarating canopy circuit. We will climb a tower and stairway that ascend to the treetops, where breathtaking views of the rainforest unfold before your eyes. From the first platform, we will glide along the first zip line, nearly 200 meters (656 feet) long, feeling the thrill as we soar through the air. 

Secured with high-quality harnesses, the adrenaline rush will intensify as we cross a 75-meter (246-foot) hanging log walkway, suspended 27 meters (89 feet) above the forest floor. This daring passage will take us to another platform where the second zip line awaits—a 160-meter (525-foot) ride back to the starting point. After descending to the forest floor, we will return to the Amazon Garden Lodge for a delicious lunch.

Kayaking to Monkey island and night walks

In the afternoon, we will set off on a kayaking adventure along the calm waters of the Madre de Dios River. Accompanied by a motorboat for added security, you will paddle leisurely with life jackets on, enjoying the serene surroundings. Our destination is Monkey Island, where capuchins, tamarins, and squirrel monkeys will greet us from the treetops. These playful creatures will come down to interact, even taking food from your hands, offering a unique and heartwarming encounter.

In the evening, nocturnal adventures await. We will venture out on a night walk along the riverbank, searching for caimans with the help of our expert guides. Their glowing eyes reflecting the moonlight will provide a thrilling glimpse into the nocturnal world of the Amazon. Afterward, we will return to the Amazon Garden Lodge for a well-deserved rest, preparing for more exciting discoveries in the days ahead.

  • Loros: 20 species of loros and periquitos from the dose of the forest and its common characteristic of every adventure in Tambopata.
  • Tucans: 8 species of exotic looking tucans inhabit the tropical forests of Tambopata and many of them are found in the Dodel Torres and on excursions to Lagos along the meander.
  • White lip pecaries: Difficult worms in other areas of the Amazon that are impacted by people, these species of this large species of tropical forest are found regularly in the Tambopata National Reserve.

9. What is the recommended order to take your guests to the Lodge?

We are safe for you to travel with your children, because the experience of traveling in Peru is one of the most rewarding things, but we do not recommend traveling with children under 3 years old; children between 3 and 7 years old are most recommended, but they do not have any activities that take place in the early morning or end very late. But if you’re a child less than 8 years old, you might enjoy more activities; Please note that, if your children are unable to do so, the guides do not hold you responsible for the charge.

10. What vacations are required to visit Tambopata?

13. How is the climate in Tambopata?

In Tambopata, the daytime temperature varies between 78°F and 93°F (24°C and 31°C), but the average nighttime temperature is between 66°F and 78°F (20°C and 24°C).

From May to September, the frequent cold weather from Argentina can warm up to the south-west of the Amazon, raising daytime temperatures to 50°F (9°C) and nighttime temperatures to 43°F (5°C). In this case, it is recommended that the clothes are suitable for the cold and the cold weather for this time.

What are the necessary tips for traveling on the road?
