Tambopata National Reserve protects one of the most biodiverse rainforest ecosystems in southeastern Peru. Depending on your itinerary, your Amazon experience can include wildlife observation, rivers, oxbow lakes and clay licks associated with the wider Tambopata region.

Climb observation towers up to 40 meters high and walk along suspended bridges through the rainforest canopy at eye level with howler monkeys, toucans, and sloths.

Tambopata can be visited year-round, although rainfall, river conditions and wildlife activity vary by season. The drier months generally make rainforest walks easier, while the wetter season brings higher river levels and a different jungle atmosphere.
Has hot, humid weather year-round, with daytime temperatures between 28–33°C (82–91°F) and nights averaging 22–24°C (72–75°F). Humidity remains high throughout the year, and short tropical rain showers can occur even during the dry season.
May to October (Dry Season) is the best and most popular time to visit, offering lower rainfall, easier jungle walks, and excellent wildlife sightings such as macaws, monkeys, and caimans.
The rainy season from November to April brings higher river levels, making it an excellent time for river travel and canoe excursions, but the trails can be muddy, with January to March being the wettest months of the year.
Wildlife can be seen year-round, but sightings vary by season. During the dry season, animals are more concentrated near rivers and water sources, making mammals like monkeys and caimans easier to spot while walking trails.
