Code of conduct against the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents

At Amazon Garden Lodge, we stand firm in our commitment to protect children and adolescents from any form of sexual exploitation within the tourism sector. Guided by the principles established by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru (MINCETUR) and in compliance with Supreme Decree No. 005-2020-MINCETUR and Law No. 29408 – General Tourism Law, we have officially signed the Code of Conduct Against the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESNNA).

Any suspicion or case of sexual exploitation of children or adolescents (CSEC) must be reported immediately to the competent authorities, such as the Public Prosecutor’s Office or the National Police.

It is essential to keep the following contact lines available for prompt action:

Ministry of the Interior: 0800-2-3232

Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations (Women’s Emergency Center): Line 100

National Police: nearest police station or directly to the Prosecutor’s Office

All individuals and organizations involved in tourism are called to respect and promote the laws that sanction emotional and sexual abuse in any form, with special emphasis on protecting minors from exploitation and violence.

Ethical commitment

We adheres to the ethical principles established by Law No. 29408 – General Tourism Law, rejecting and condemning any act related to the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, or any other criminal conduct.

If you become aware of any situation involving sexual exploitation of minors under 18 years of age, report it immediately to the authorities.
Together, we can contribute to a tourism industry based on respect, integrity, and the protection of human rights.

Actions against the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents (ESNNA CODE)

To promote a responsible and ethical tourism environment, the following preventive actions are implemented in alignment with the Code of Conduct Against the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESNNA):

Continuous staff training: all personnel receive ongoing education on how to identify, prevent, and appropriately respond to potential risk situations involving minors.

Clear and transparent communication: the ESNNA Code of Conduct is visibly shared across physical spaces, online platforms, and service materials to inform and raise awareness among travelers, partners, and suppliers.

Zero tolerance policy: services are not provided to individuals or organizations involved in, or suspected of, any form of child sexual exploitation.

Immediate reporting: any suspicion or evidence of sexual exploitation is promptly communicated to the competent authorities, following established legal procedures.

Ethical collaboration: agreements with partners and suppliers include specific clauses reinforcing shared responsibility in the prevention of ESNNA-related practices.

These measures reflect a firm commitment to safeguarding the rights of children and adolescents, ensuring that tourism remains a space of respect, safety, and human dignity.
