Your journey kicks off with pickup from the airport or your hotel. We’ll begin with a guided walk through Iquitos’ historic downtown, transporting you back to the opulent rubber boom era.

You’ll visit architectural gems like Casa de Fierro (crafted by Gustave Eiffel), the storied Hotel Palace, Casa Cohen, and Casa Fitzcarraldo, each holding tales from a bygone age.

From the port, we’ll cruise along the Itaya River toward the mighty Amazon River, the planet’s most voluminous waterway. En route, you’ll see the impressive Nanay River Bridge, Peru’s largest, linking the city to the endless rainforest.

Watch as traditional riverside communities go about their lives, connected to the Amazon’s ancient rhythms.

Once you reach Cumaceba Ecolodge, your jungle sanctuary, you’ll check into your comfortable cabin and savor a tasty lunch showcasing local cuisine.

That afternoon, head out on a guided rainforest trek, discovering medicinal plants and giant trees, with the special chance to interact with and feed squirrel monkeys in the wild. If conditions allow, you’ll catch an unforgettable sunset painting the Amazon’s waters in brilliant colors.

Following dinner, get ready for a nighttime canoe excursion on the mysterious Shansho Lagoon. Under the stars, you’ll hunt for caimans using flashlights while the jungle comes alive around you, crickets chirping, frogs croaking, night birds calling, and wind rustling through the canopy.

Awaken to the first rays of the Loreto sun with a special morning excursion to observe Amazonian birds as they begin their day in their natural habitat. The sunrise over the Amazon is a spectacle you will remember forever.

After an energizing breakfast, visit the Neyser Wildlife Rescue Center, a conservation project where you will encounter a variety of rescued animals, including monkeys, adorable sloths, and other species in semi-wild rehabilitation.

The highlight of the day: searching for the pink and gray Amazon river dolphins! These enigmatic freshwater cetaceans are among the region’s most treasured wildlife. With luck, you may witness them playfully interacting in the river’s waters.

Return to the lodge for a final Amazonian lunch before beginning your journey back to Iquitos.

You will be transferred to your hotel aboard a picturesque motokar, the most authentic local transportation in Iquitos, or directly to the airport via private vehicle, carrying with you unforgettable memories of the Amazon.
