Ready for an unforgettable Amazon adventure? Our Iquitos Amazon Tour 3 Days delivers the complete rainforest experience, combining river cruises along the mighty Amazon, guided jungle treks, and up-close wildlife encounters with pink dolphins, howler monkeys, and exotic birds. This hands-on journey blends natural wonder with authentic cultural immersion, perfect for travelers who want maximum adventure in minimal time.
Our 3-day Amazon tour from Iquitos takes you deep into one of the most remote and biodiverse regions on the planet. Reached only by air or river, Iquitos marks the point where civilization gives way to rainforest, and the Amazon becomes the true focus of the journey. From the moment you leave the city behind, the pace slows and nature takes control.
Traveling along the Amazon River and its tributaries, you’ll reach jungle lodges surrounded by untouched forest, where wildlife is part of everyday life. Guided by experienced local experts, each activity, whether a boat ride, jungle walk, or night excursion, reveals how the rainforest functions and why it has remained in balance for centuries.
Throughout the tour, you may spot monkeys, macaws, caimans, and, with some luck, the famous pink river dolphins. Cultural visits to indigenous communities provide a meaningful look into traditional knowledge, medicinal plants, and Amazonian lifestyles.

Your journey into the Amazon begins with a pickup from the airport or your hotel in Iquitos. We’ll start with a guided walk through the historic center of the city, stepping back into the time of the rubber boom as you visit remarkable landmarks such as the famous Casa de Fierro, attributed to Gustave Eiffel, along with Hotel Palace, Casa Cohen, and Casa Fitzcarraldo, each telling a story of Iquitos’ golden age.
From our private pier, we head out by boat along the Itaya River, continuing toward the powerful Amazon River, the largest river on Earth by volume. During the navigation, you’ll enjoy views of the impressive Nanay River Bridge, the largest in Peru, and observe traditional riverside villages where daily life still follows the natural rhythm of the rainforest.
Once we arrive at Cumaceba Amazon Lodge, located deep in the jungle, you’ll settle into your comfortable cabin and enjoy a typical regional lunch prepared with local ingredients.
In the afternoon, we explore the surrounding rainforest on a guided jungle walk, learning about medicinal plants, ancient trees, and native flora. With a bit of luck, you may encounter squirrel monkeys roaming freely in their natural habitat. If the weather cooperates, the day ends with a spectacular Amazon sunset reflected on the river.
After dinner, the adventure continues with a nighttime canoe excursion on Shanshococha Lagoon, where we search for caimans using flashlights while the sounds of the nocturnal jungle come alive. On the way back to the lodge, your guide will share Amazonian myths and legends, closing an unforgettable first day at Cumaceba Amazon Lodge.
The day begins early with a morning outing to spot Amazonian birds, when the rainforest is at its most active and alive. After returning to the lodge for a hearty breakfast, we get ready for a hands-on Amazon experience.
You’ll take part in traditional piranha fishing, using local methods to try your luck catching piranhas, along with catfish and small river fish commonly found in these waters. It’s a fun and authentic activity that offers a real glimpse into daily life along the Amazon rivers.
One of the most anticipated moments of the tour follows as we head out in search of the pink and gray river dolphins, iconic and mysterious residents of the Amazon. Watching these freshwater dolphins surface in their natural environment is a truly memorable wildlife encounter. We then return to the ecolodge for a self-service lunch, featuring regional Amazon flavors.
In the afternoon, we visit the Neyser Wildlife Rescue Center, an important conservation initiative dedicated to protecting rescued animals. Here, you’ll see monkeys, sloths, and other native species living in semi-natural conditions while learning about rehabilitation efforts in the region.
After dinner, the jungle reveals a completely different side during a guided night walk through the rainforest. Equipped with flashlights, you’ll look for frogs, insects, tarantulas, and other nocturnal creatures, all while surrounded by the sounds of the tropical forest. This final activity offers a fascinating look at the Amazon’s hidden nighttime world.
Overnight at Cumaceba Amazon Lodge.
The final day starts with a quiet morning canoe ride across Shansho Lagoon, one of the best places to spot the remarkable Hoatzin, a striking, prehistoric-looking bird found only in the Amazon. After this wildlife experience, we return to the lodge to enjoy breakfast.
Later, you’ll visit the Yagua Indigenous Community, where you’ll gain insight into Amazonian traditions and daily life. Learn about their traditional attire, ancestral dances, native language, and handcrafted artwork. One of the most memorable moments is a hands-on demonstration of the blowgun, an ancient hunting tool still used by Amazonian communities today. After the visit, we return to the lodge for lunch.
At the scheduled time, we begin the journey back to Iquitos. Depending on the arrangement, you’ll be transferred to the airport by private transport or taken to your hotel in a motokar, the iconic local vehicle, offering a final authentic touch to your Amazon adventure. You’ll leave carrying unforgettable memories of life deep in the rainforest.
